Ressence Type 1 Type1-SlimB Titanium - 2025

The Ressence TYPE 1 Slim - here with dial in Black - was first presented in 2019 as a thinner, elegant evolution of the original TYPE 1. It is characterized not only by its slimmer case, which has been reduced in thickness from 13 mm to 11 mm, but also by the transition to an integrated case shape: the case and strap lug are made from a single block of Titanium milled from a grade 5 block to create a sleeker, more modern silhouette. Crucial to the identity of the TYPE 1 Slim is the smooth, pebble-like feel in the hand, enhanced by a curved Sapphire Crystal that extends to the edge of the 42 mm case. The watch has no crown, but is wound and adjusted via a recessed lever that folds out from the case back. This provides improved ergonomics, as the watch can be worn on either the right or left wrist, and promotes a closer connection between the wearer and the mechanical movement. Like the TYPE 1 before it and like its sibling, the TYPE 1 Squared, the TYPE 1 Slim uses the Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS) to display the time. This revolutionary mechanism is at the heart of Ressence's quest to improve the traditional mechanical watch. It replaces the static, multi-layered dial and hands with a display in which the hours, minutes and seconds revolve around each other in a single plane. This unique idea improves legibility and displays the time more efficiently than if it were shown on a single sheet of paper. The ROCS system, consisting of a total of 107 parts, is driven by the minute axis of an automatic movement beating at 28,800 revolutions per minute and offering a power reserve of 36 hours.
